Obituary Posted in the Sun Herald Sept 20th 2005 tells much about our Uncle. Please take a minute to read about him. Horace "Junior" Necaise, Jr., 78, of Pass Christian, died Thursday, August 29, 2005 in Pass Christian. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a pillar of the community, loved and respected by many. He touched many lives with his generosity and service to others. He was a very self-sacrificing man. "Junior" was proud of his career as an ironworker for Local #58 from which he supported his wife of over 55 years, Annie Farragut Necaise, and their seven children and from which he eventually retired. He was also very dedicated to the Pass Christian Volunteer Fire Department where he spent many years serving as Secretary and Treasurer and as an active member. Junior also spent summer months shrimping on his shrimp boats. He loved to be out on the Sound in his boat. One of the most important things he did was to instill into his children and grandchildren a very strong work ethic and to help them to understand the importance of an education. He was a hardworking man that never stood idle. He always had to stay busy. Junior was a very honest man of great integrity. He was a humble man who never put himself before others. He was also a very fun loving man and found humor in the simple things in life. He was very proud of each of his seven children, his 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be greatly missed but his spirit will live on in all of them. Horace was preceded in death by his parents: Horace Necaise Sr. and Annie McDonald Necaise; his wife: Annie Lynn Farragut Necaise; and his daughter: Susan Necaise Nicholson. He is survived by one brother: Caroll James "Buddy" Necaise; three sons: Ace (Pattie) Necaise of Ocean Springs, J.C. (Kay) Necaise and Mark (Kim) Necaise of Pass Christian; three daughters: Sherrie (Ron) Necaise Massey of Pass Christian, Phyllis Necaise Warner McBride of Batesville, MS and Polly (Mike) Necaise Cuevas of Pass Christian; 15 grandchildren: Stacey, Nathan, Katy, Aaron, Michael, Heidi, Holly, Heath, Jonathan, Ryan, Patrick, Ashley, Rachel, Emily and Alex; and great grandchild: Parker. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Old DeLisle Cemetery, on Monday, September 13, 2005 -

Michael Patrick Neely
52
New Orleans, LA United States
Michael Neely is my father. He lived on Mouton St. in Lakeview New Orleans. He retired from Sewerage and Water Board this year and his birthday was on Sept. 21, but he did not make it to 53. Katrina stole him from us. He was found outside of his home with a life jacket on 3 weeks after the storm. We were unable to put him to rest until 7 weeks after the storm when he was finally identified, although, he was found with his ID. He was a good man and I loved him very much. He will be missed by all of us who knew and loved him. I love you, dad. Until we meet again, Sandy -

I still think of you every day and know I will until my last day on earth. I miss you more than words can say. In only a few days your mother will be 80. We will all be together to celebrate and I know you will be there too.
I miss looking forward to your phone calls and your face light up when you played with your grandkids. I miss you and I'll forever love you!- Sandy -
